Launching Artesian Connect, with the help of astronaut Tim Peake

If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that humans are hardwired to connect. So we were delighted to have been joined by over 500 peers, customers, fans, prospects, commentators, influencers, and none other than astronaut Tim Peake, for our Connect21 Hope and Innovation Virtual Summit last week.

In his keynote* Tim Peake talked about his experiences on the International Space Station (ISS) in 2016, the scientific research he was involved in, and of course his infamous spacewalk.

He entertained with personal stories such as running the London marathon at zero gravity, how he marvelled at the wonders of Earth from above, and even his hilarious close encounter experience that turned out to be anything but alien.

He also talked about his hopes for a second mission as part of the Artemis programme, and his views on when humans will set foot on Mars – sooner than you might think!

Importantly, Tim also talked about the importance of innovation and harnessing the power of data to keep pushing boundaries.

He also shared his views on topics such as sustainability, learning from mistakes, adaptability, confronting fears, the importance of great training and planning, and building a resilient mind-set.

But what struck most, however, was that he considers his greatest achievement in space to be the collaboration and connection between his fellow ISS crew.
