Starting early on Friday 10th May climbing Ben Nevis, they will move on to Scafell Pike in the Lake District, and finish 24 hours later at the bottom of Mount Snowdon – covering a walking distance of 23 miles, a 462 mile drive and a huge 3064 metres of ascent.
An empowering cause
The Artesian team are undertaking this challenge to raise money for Mind, The Mental Health Charity – a cause very close to their hearts.
Mind work to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of this growing issue.
Mind take 100,000 calls a year, and in the last 12 months alone have supported 450,000 people, something they couldn’t do without vital fundraising.
Talking about why they have selected to undertake this challenge to raise money for Mind, Stuart Newton, Artesian’s Director of Marketing, commented:
“For some time now, there has been a huge focus in the press about overworked employees, people burning out, hiding mental health issues and in the worst cases, an increase in suicide rates. It’s something we’re keen to raise awareness of and do something about. Within Artesian, we’re increasing the focus on wellness for our employees – encouraging good nutrition, exercise and posture and educating them on how to manage stress, anxiety and other mental health issues. This is why we’ve selected Mind as our partner charity. Teamwork is a critical part of our ethos at Artesian and we can’t wait to take on the physically and mentally demanding challenge of the Three Peaks together.”
