Stephen Kelly – angel investor in Artesian – announced as Chair of Tech Nation

LONDON, England, June 1, 2020 – In Artesian’s early startup days, we were fortunate enough to receive angel investment from several prominent industry titans, including Dr Steve Garnett the ex. EMEA Chairman of and Stephen Kelly the ex-CEO of Sage, Micro Focus and Chordiant and former Chief Operating Officer of the UK Government. Since those early days we’ve rapidly scaled, in part, thanks to their continued support and mentoring.

With over 35 years leadership experience, Stephen led Sage to become the fastest-growing Top 10 cloud software provider with shareholder return of over twice that of the FTSE100. During his time as COO at the UK Government, they delivered savings of £50bn through efficiencies; award-winning digital citizen services ( and increased business with SMEs from 6% to 25% per annum, driving SME job growth. In 2015, Stephen was appointed Business Ambassador to the British Prime Minister until 2018.

Stephen is an established investor and mentor with many UK digital businesses and entrepreneurs with extensive chairing and non-executive experience. His accolades include Mentor of the Year (2018 Tech Awards) and No. 1 UK Tech 500 Power List 2018.

Stephen is a passionate advocate for technology companies and the wider tech community. In January 2020, Stephen spoke at an Artesian Networking Lunch about the future of sales, including the trends and technologies that would catalyse disruption in B2B over the next ten years.
